Where Most People Will Find Their Next Opportunity (And Why You Need To Be There Too)

The business of marketing job opportunities and company culture (employer branding, recruitment marketing, whatever you want to call it) has narrowed down to one thing:
Content at scale that’s distributed in a feed.
Because we (the bored and the curious with computers in our hands) discover most new things—products, job opportunities, news, entertainment, education, and relationships—via social media, communities, and forums. (Aka, information feeds.)
And not seeing this is overlooking one of the most common human behaviors—scrolling.
Bottom line: You’re competing for attention. And at least for now, this is where the most attention is being given. So it probably makes sense to be there. A lot.
P.S. If you’re hiring a marketer of jobs and culture, this skillset (understanding human behavior and tactically knowing how to match it) is the must-have.
Context: This is purely about discovery. A lot of education and trust-building can happen in a feed and through the online conversations that follow. That said, using the feed as a way to send people to places that offer wider value is probably a good move ;).
